Default 92 F150 cooling problem

The gauge on my 1992 F150 does not go above the first line of the gauge when running...cooling sensor has been replaced and the thermostat has been replaced...fan clutch has been replaced....it seems like the truck is running to cold...it has a 5.0 eec motor....never have i had a vehicle that ran to cool...they always run hot...lol.....anyone have any ideas? or is this normal? Thanks

well have you confirmed that coolant flow is correct? Start it cold and feel the upper hose, if it slowly gets warm, then coolant is getting past the t-stat. If it suddenly gets hot, then cools then the T-stat is working. A properly working system will pressurize, so check that after a drive to make sure the hoses are firm and hot. If so, you just have a wonky dash gauge. Since it is a 92, you might be able to plug a scanner in to read the engine temp. I think I have an old scanner from back then that could read it, but I doubt it still works, or if I have the correct module for it.

Yes I have checked all that...the coolant flows properly and it does get warm and pressurizes ....i was thinking maybe a screwy gauge but i am not sure...i have a scanner that i am gonna hook up today..not sure if it will read any input but i am gonna try it anyways...

Most likely the gauge is just wonky if all else checks out.
