Default 5.4 liter engine troubles
I have a 2006 F-150 4X4. Have noise coming from passenger side of motor. Sounds like a lifter but motor is running okay. No misfires or rough idle. Ticking to sometimes a pinging sound. Any suggestions?

Me too. Mine is an 05 and I have the same thing. Seems to be worse when it's warm outside or the truck is warmed up. Seems to run fine, just sounds like a diesel.

I just bought a 2006 5.4L Triton Lariat that has the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.

my co worker had a 1999 5.4l with the loud ticking sound. He said it was coming from his injectors.

My injectors make noise too...it's when they go quiet is when I'll worry.
