Default 4x4 Question ?

I have been told that it is a good idea to drive you 4x4 in high at least once a month to keep the 4x4 in good working order. Any comments and advice is more than welcome. Thanks in Advance..................

Default Gravel roads

I also do it, but like the first responder, I usually try to find a gravel or dirt road so my tires can spin and not bind up. With that said, I have also forgot to put it into 2WD and drove 70mph for 10 miles and when I slowed down to turn into a store, noticed the hard steering, looked down to see I was still in 4 wheel drive. Put 247K miles on that Chevy and not one issue with the 4X4 system.

4H is good on any surface for a limited time (couple miles maybe) I drive mine in 4H 1-2 times a month for a mile or 2 then when I take recycle back I drive arount the gravel parking lot in 4L.

I've had 3 different trucks (all F-150's) and only put them into 4wd when I needed it. I never had an issue with the older 2 (or the new one, just miles aren't high enough to be an example). 98 with 200,000km on it and a new body 04 with just under 300,000km on it.

Same as above, only use it when needed.

The more important this is changing the differential fluid on a regular schedule.
