The more I prod and probe around my 2011 platinum ford f150 (48k sticker) the more I wonder what the heck I was thinking?
Every piece of the Interior is the flimsiest material I have ever had in any car.
The "leather" covered instrument panel is ridiculous, the material slides around the plastic panel, the whole dash is a piece of plastic. Knock on it and I think I'll break it. Every seam of plastic is movable with Th slightest force, the alumin isn't aluminum it's plastic, the leather covers 30 percent of the seat, the rest is cheap vinyl, the rug is like plastic, it wreaks of cheap... Shut the doors and the paper thin door panela vibrate, the door seams are ridiculously folded with what appears to be carelessness, very uneven, etc etc etc
In comparison a VW is built like a tank, the dash is solid an padded, the plastics and vinyls are far superior and the fit finish is not even a contest, why did I buy this??

Go buy a VW then. Did you not even look at the truck before you bought it? I have a hard time believing all of this stuff that you are complaining about is actually what you say it is. Any nit would notice this stuff while looking at the vehicle before buying it.

I am more than happy with the fit, finish and quality of my 2004 F150. I have a hard time believing the new models are just slapped together as you are saying.

Do you mean the soft touch plastics that peel after 2 years of ownership, the window regulators that break every 6 months, the coil packs that last 10,000mi, the oil lines that coke up causing the turbo/engine to fail, the cam followers that shatter in the engine, the direct injection that causes the valves to stop working due to massive carbon build-up, the TDi fuel pumps that seize, the 2.5L I5 that has the power of an I4 and the fuel efficiency of a V6, or the brand new redesigned 2011 Jetta that features an IRON BLOCK 8V I4 with a whopping 115bhp (known colloquially as the 2.Slow)?

Yes I admit, the Several VW's which i have owned have better materials than my 48 thousand dollar f150 oh and yes the VW cost half as much!
Guys let's not be homers, I own the dammn truck, I am saying it is cheaply built with crappy materials if you don't agree, then you have never been in a decently built vehicle, did I buy it? Yes I did. Did I make a mistake? Quite possibly yes,
I'll be bringing it in on Monday for the incessant driver door rattle and the Platinum rear panel coming loose at the upper right quadrant.
Let's reach out to both sides of the aisle, just because you own one doesn't mean it is great
