Default 4 Wheel Drive Problems!

I have a 2005 that I just replace hub assem. and vacuum actuator that failed because of a vacuum leak. Everything seemed to be working fine until I had stopped on a sheet of ice, put it in 4h (I have the manual shift on the floor) light came on put in reverse and only the back tires would spin, and it was making a grinding noise from the front like the hubs weren't engaging. Put the truck in drive, no noise and front and rear tires spin and the truck moved. Put the truck back in reverse and same problem as before, only back tires would spin and grinding from the front. Any ideas?

Are you sure the IWE bolts were torqued to the steering knuckle properly? I would also suspect the IWE and/or hub you didn't replace yet.
