Default 3 tunes or 2 tunes...custom tunes

Hey everyone. So, I purchased a used LivewireTS tuner and got it for $300 with one canned tune on it. I installed it and immediately noticed a little difference but nothing like I would notice if I had custom tune.

However, I tow my camper about 4-6 times a year over a long weekend and I commute about 120-130 miles a day in my truck.

Do you guys think a 3-tune setup would be beneficial over a 2-tune setup? I was thinking a Tow/Performance and an Economy but I started thinking about all kinds of things and options and lost myself LOL.

Also, I see most of the custom tuner's have about the same reviews from everyone. I was leaning towards MPT but I've also heard good things about SoCal, as well. MPT seems to be more cost effective and has great reviews all over this forum. I've saw Livernosis, MPT, SoCal, 5-Star, Unleashed...am I missing any others that you would recommend? Do you guys like the performance tunes of MPT or Unleashed better?

Thanks!

Economy is a waste. Get a Performance/Towing tune and then a "Race" type above that or just Perf/Tow using 87 and 91/93 octane. I personally started off with 5 tunes as part of the purchase, but I've only ever used 87 perf/tow.

I have enjoyed my experience with MPT. Tunes rip, like no joke get some fresh underwear.

What octane fuel do you have available in your area?

See, that is my fear...buy tunes and NEVER use them. I'm really looking for a fuel saving tune. Are they truly a waste of money and time??

I can get 91. I live in Colorado but I usually run 87 as the 91 octane can come at an even higher premium in $$ because its Colorado

Do not get a tune for fuel saving, you WILL be disappointed. Tunes are good for performance only.

With a performance tune, you'll likely not see a change in MPG up/down. Yet you'll feel a difference every time you even tap on the pedal.

Another vote for not bothering with economy tunes. I have 5 star tunes, very happy with perf/tow and race tune but had the economy tow on for a week, gained no mpg and seemed worse off than stock.

I have 5* and unleashed tunes. Unleashed is by far my favorite of the two.

Before I lifted and put larger tires on , I was running a 93 performance/tow from 5* and this is the result,..

The economy tune didn't do a damn thing so I deleted it from my programmer.

Another thing to keep in mind is if you travel, lots of places don't have all the different octanes available, so I got a handful to cover all of them.
