Really? Why not? I wouldn't even question using it to tow with. Especially if I wanted to put a little cash into it and a good tune. I am willing to bet that it would be quite a bit better than the 5.0 or 6.2 for towing.

Pardon me for not knowing Chevy's exact engine line-up (as if I gave a rat's *** about them honestly) lol.

Just because its a V6 does not mean its at a disadvantage. In the game of engines, a turbo changes everything.
Behold:

420Ftlb of torque at 2500 RPM.
So, you were saying?

The pproblem is, as someone stated in another thread, you have to buy thr rest of the truck too. I used to drive Chevy and Pontiac. It was no fun getting all new brakes, drums, and rotors at 16,000 miles. I traded my 03 Explorer w/ 58,000 miles and it still had original brake parts.

Dude get your facts right! The 3.5L is the twin turbo. The 3.7L is the base V6 engine. Two totally different engines!

It is a 3.5 and it should not dissapoint the average user. It tows 11K lbs and gets 20 MPG. NOT BAD. I was watching the torture test that they are doing to the engine.
Pretty F'in impressive engine. I am eager to see how it does hauling timber and running the baja 1000. We'll see if it still comes out on top.

Oh, believe me....I think Ford's quality is far superior, which is why I just bought a new FX4 after careful consideration (LONG time die-hard Chevy fan here). I was just stirring the pot a bit on the whole "but THIS engine has more power!" issue.....lol!

I just question the durability of this engine. You are asking a six cylinder to do the work of an eight. I'm curious to see how these engines stand up a year or two later. I hope that I am surprised!
