Does anyone have ideas to help protect the tailgate on a 2022 with work surface? The outside of the tailgate is exposed and mine is already getting scratched up from loading and unloading. I’m picky and like to keep it pristine. I was think of just getting lineX for the tailgate.

I though the work surface was already a plastic tailgate protector.
Are you wanting a protector for the work surface? How could you use it if you cover it up?

The work surface is a plastic liner; however, it does not cover the entire tailgate. The top and bottom 2” are exposed, so as you load or unload or have items close the the tailgate when transporting that lower portion will scratch. I think I’m just going to get the tail gate LineX to cover those exposed areas. Ford should have made a fill tailgate cover.

Ok, Gotcha. Might consider grip tape as well. I'd want some on that outer edge for mis-steps, wish I could put some on mine.

That was why I opted for the factory spray-in liner.. mine's lined in.. I don't know about aftermarket spray-in liners, some may do a sloppy job. Some may have it done at the dealership.
