2017 XLT speaker help.
Hello and thank you in advance. I have looked at various threads, posts, and other videos but I'm really confused about this and I'm not a car stereo guy so I hope you will bear with me.
I have a new-to-me 2017 XLT SuperCab 2.7. To be honest, the sound is mostly fine, but something was off and bothering me.
It had no sound out of the rear driver side speaker in the suicide door.
After testing continuity, I went to Amazon and bought cheap *** Pyle gear X PLG6.2 speakers just to make sure a wire wasn't broken somewhere. The speaker works.
But it sounds like utter garbage. It's VERY Quiet, tinny, lacks bass, volume AND mid. the factory rear speaker is SOOOOooo much better.
From what I can tell, I don't have the Sony upgrade, and there's no additional amp behind the back seat. But I'm not positive. How would I know for certain about the Sony? (When I pulled the speaker, it didn't say SONY that I saw.).
Can anyone tell me what kind of wattage I might have in the stock speaker so I can at least match the (assumed factory) on the other side? Given that this truck is now older, what would be at least an equivalent of what was in there if not a slight upgrade?
Now that I have simply tested it, I have no idea where to begin for a decent product that will fit easily.
Thank you, and thank you again.
