Wannabe insurance lawyers that are attracted to threads like these. You can spot them when they tell you a long list of demands you should make with your insurance company, the body shop, congress, etc.

While I understand where you're coming from - I didn't ask for this impact, but I do want to be made whole for this error in judgement.

I feel that this driver and his/her decisions have directly impacted the quality of my baby F150. Honestly, I'm contemplating trading because I don't know if it'll ever be right again. It probably will be, but before this incident i could chalk up any weirdness to things I'd done or factory. Now that random pull to the left, rattle in the back is because someone decided to take a turn to fast and hit my truck. It might sound silly, and really out of context it is, but this is my nice truck. My 2000 Sierra my work horse that has all the bumps and bruises that are worth letting go in incidents like these.

Any advise on becoming whole is not only welcomed; it's encouraged. I don't want to be a lawyer, but I welcome wanna be lawyers to give pointers/advise.

That said, I'm not a hard *** (usually). I appreciate the pointers on the 4wd piece. It makes me feel a lot better if I fail the 4wd discussion with my insurance.

LOL - sounds like you've lived here. I've received many a notes on my trucks reading 'this is a spot for two vehicles' and 'please consider a hybrid'. I LOVE Cambridge for things like police response (thanks again Cambridge PD for catching the perp), but sometimes the tree huggers are a bit much. Perhaps they ditch stage this to get rid of my gas guzzler.

How do I put this delicately? I asked about the driver, and was pointed down the street to a young lady who was not having a good day. She went from walking the line (I think?) to ambulance. She could have been having a medical condition, but she smelled like booze when she walked past me, and what I assume was a sobriety test (it looked like drunk line dancing) didn't go well.

I'm glad she's ok; but I really wish she'd taken an uber home...

UGH, I'm so sorry. At least they got me back in an F-150 immediately, but it's not my truck. Almost feels like cheating. I won't comment on having an Ecoboost vs 5.0 Liter (don't want to start a war) but I miss my truck :-(.

What happened!? How'd yours come out?

Hey Globo, sorry about your truck, that sucks. On the flip side, I work at USAA, so I'm glad we were able to take care of you so quickly. I work for a great company that really wants to take care of its members, so it's nice to hear when things go smoothly for our peeps. If the other insurance company gives you the run around, you know USAA will be there to help.

I'm from central MA, my sister lives in Belmont, has lived in slummerville, Newton, Watertown, etc. Very familiar with both the people and the area.

Why doesn't Newton have a homeless problem?

Because they chase them back across the bridge into Cambridge every night.

Looks like the wheel/axle took the brunt of the impact, so it would be safe to assume that it is now moved a bit to the right. I hope they take the axle apart and inspect up to the hub, as that kind of impact damages bearings, bends axles, cracks housings, etc. I tapped a curb with a rear wheel on a Fusion when I slid on some ice and sure enough, $400 later had a new bearing and back plate installed. If anything you have a good Diminished value claim there as well, who knows what is tweaked out on it. I guess that yaris did not go very faris.
