Default 2014STX - removing front cup holder

I need to drill two holes in the front of the cup holder. I may be able to squeeze the drill motor in, but it would be easier to drill the hole and attach the fasteners with it out.

Did a search but couldn't find anything specific. I also poked around the cup holder. I found a plastic cover on each side that hides a screw (to hold the facing under the cup holder, I think) but not sure if that's part of the removal process.

Any help would be much appreciated. Here's a pic:

You can buy longer drills at Harbor Freight, that way you can avoid scraping something with the drill chuck.

First, thanks for the response. I should have explained myself a little better. I will be drilling holes parallel to the floor, from the front of the truck to the rear (toward the seat) if that makes sense.

It may end up being easier to just drill it in place, but thought someone might know if there's an easy way to remove it.
