It's neither one of those, it the gray plastic running boards that extends the length of the truck.

I've had running boards before and never had an issue with them. Well last night I slipped off mine and hurt my ankle. I can barely walk today, its all swollen and cramping up. Once I get better I'm gonna go find some skateboard tape or something.

I find my steps to be way too close to the body. I wear a size 13 and wear work boots every day and they are basically unusable. If someone came up with new brackets that moved them out around 2 inches Id be first in line to purchase

All you need is 4 square plates, 3/16 thick....

THIS is exactly why I took off my King Ranch running boards and replaced them with THIS!

I have a set of fx4 running boards that I will put that grip tape everyone is talking about, and I'm gonna figure out a way to extend it out from the body an inch of so, so it makes it easier to step on. I agree that they are slippery add some snow on there and it gets pretty slippery. Sure sueing would be good, but that won't fix the problem. I'm sure someone on here has extended them, I'm pretty sure i have seen a thread of in, but for the life of me I can't find the damn thing.

I did have the chrome xlt running boards everyone is having a problem with, but I'm replacing them with the fx4 ones because some *** ran into my passenger side one in a parking lot and of course there is no note left. Try using the right one now that it moved in even closer to the body and is about 1/2" from the bottom of the door

Huh? I found no evidence it was overturned. The problem with referencing that case is that to this day there is still a majority of people who do not know all of the facts. Liebeck wasn't just some crazy old lady who was sore for a few days afterward.

I have big feet too and felt the same way. They should be another inch or two from the body.
