Default 2013 f 150 tranny flush

Im having my tranny flushed soon at 51k miles. I bought 13 quarts of amsoil fuel efficient transmission fluid. The manual calls for 13.1 quarts should i even bother buying another quart for that .1 of a quart?

Just out of curiously, do you tow heavy or something? 50,000 is early for a fluid trans fluid change. Just wondering.

I wouldn't until I knew I needed it for sure.

I dont really agree with Ford's recommend 150k trans service. Im a preventive maintenance guy. Dont tow much i just like peice of mind. Amsoil in almost all fluids.

If I were you i would get the filter changed and magnet cleaned, and only replace the fluid lost from that process. (dropping the pan). thats the important part. its not necessary to do a complete flush/fluid exchange right now or anytime soon.

Yeah ive thought about doing that it's just that if i was only replacing that much I'd just went with the oem mercon v fluid. Since i brought 13 quarts of amsoil i was really set on switching out the fluids. Ive personally had amsoil put in my previous truck and it made it shift way smoother and crisper. But yeah i know its early.

Sunfire, .1 or 1/10th quart is 3.2 ounces. I would just go with the 3 ounces, and be happy, happy, happy. I know buying a whole quart for just 3 ounces is hard to do, but my OCD would make me pay if I didn't.

Are you doing this yourself? Without the equipment to flush and just doing a drain and refill, you'll only get a fraction of the old fluid out. Although replacing those 3-4 quarts every 50k miles probably isn't a bad idea.
