Default 2012 fx4 appearance pakage

I recently ordered a 2012 fx4 red with the appearance package. I seen pics of this truck on motor trends site , here's a link http://www.motortrend.com/oftheyear/.../photo_01.html

I really liked this truck at first but I am now questioning if I should of got the exact truck in black ,

Has anyone seen the red one in real life? What does the stripe look like

Which truck do you guys think looks better? Thanks

Here's a link of the black one

That black strip in my opinion is a bit much on the red, but that's my opinion and I have a black 2011 FX and pissed they didn't offer those black rims. Just me but you got your own style. Good luck

I have to agree with you, the stripe is a bit too much on some colors. I haven't seen a red one, but there is a thread with pics of all the colors with the apperance package somewhere in this forum. Maybe you can find it with a search. I just drove a Tux black w/ the apperance package. It's a beautiful thing. However the first thing I told the salesguy was that the stripe would have to go. I'm just not a big fan.

BTW, I was only dreaming. The Wifey would cut my n*ts off if I even considered trading right now.

I have seen a red one in life and the stripe looks nothing like the pictures in Motor trend. The stripes are designed to show the color of the truck through small holes but the one I saw made the stripes show more black than red. It really didn't look bad at all. Especially with the black wheels. With all this said I ordered a fully loaded black one just like the one in your link. I cant wait to get it. I get a new truck every year and told myself I would never own black but for some reason I am more excited about this truck than any in a long time. I currently own a 2011 Race red XLT.

Here are pictures of my Red Candy - posted in another thread - with and without the stripes. I decided the stripe wasn't my thing, but I love everything else about the FX Appearance Package.

The stripe don't appear to be a sold black because the strip actually has holes in it to let color through for that exact reason. Here's mine
