Default 2011 fx4

I'm suppose to go look at a 2011 fx4 this weekend, after reading about the shuttering issue I'm a little but nervous. It has 58k miles on it. I have to drive about 4 hours to go see it. What are your guys thoughts on the issue. Should I go try it out?

You talking about the driveline shutter? Its not too concerning. You can take it to the ford dealer and pay about $200 (I believe) and get it fixed. Or, if you have a grease gun, just fill it with grease. That'll fix it too. We've done both to trucks we've had in the past; both worked fine.

Yea, I was reading on the 2009-present sub forum about the eco boost having a shutter around 55 and 60, it raised my concern.

The shutter I'm talking about affected these trucks, regardless of the motor. Might be talking about a different issue... whoops.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a 11 FX4 that has the shudder you're referring to. It's had it since new. The local dealers claimed they did not notice anything. I now have 89K on my truck and it still has this lightly annoying condition, but it doesn't stop the truck from doing everything I need it to. And I'm one who doesn't baby my trucks.

In short, if you like the truck and get a decent deal. I say go for it.

Great. That's all I needed to hear. Thanks!
