2011-2014 F-150 info needed
New to site... New to ford. I've been a GMC driver for about 10 years, but am in the market for a new-to-me truck (2011-2014) and think im sold on the F150.
Any info you all would be willing to share with a prospective buyer? Have heard good things about the ecoboost, but didn't know if there are issues I should be aware of? Is the EB worth the little bit of extra money over the 5.0, is there really much difference? How about the 6.2- total gas hog, or can it be driven into the 16-17 mpg range? What real life mileage are you all seeing in these three with a relatively stock set-up, no more than leveling kit and 33-34" rubber? I'm on 285's on my '03 z71 with 5.3 and am avg around 15 mpg.
I'm looking for lariat, king ranch, and platinum editions, possibly fx4. I know the "off-road" package comes with an e locker, are regular 4x4 limited slip only? My z-71 has a locker and that's a great feature when you need it. How useful is the LS, or should I be looking for "off-road" only?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks for the help!

There is a 2009 - 2014 section on this site just loaded with all the info you could possibly want, 99% of people on here are very knowledgeable and willing to help out.
I have had two 5.0's and both have been great, my current one has 35k trouble free km's now. Any engine is a solid choice, buy based on your own personal needs....good luck and welcome!

The fx4's do come with rear e-lockers. They are optional on all other trims. If the truck doesn't have the locker, they are "open" differentials. BUT Ford uses electronic one-wheel-spin control (using the ABS and traction control) instead of limited slip differential. Even without the locker, the majority of the time, except in extreme circumstances, both wheels will get power, (all four if in 4wd). It works incredibly well.
