Default 2008 F150 engine explosion

Can anyone please guide me to information about F150 engines exploding because of magnesium? I passed my F150 to my son and he was driving it one evening in the last few weeks and the engine caught fire and now the truck is a total loss. Is this a common issue with F150's? I would not think it would be but instead is a product defect. Any guidance would be appreciated. I would also appreciate any responses being sent to my personal email at pegarcia1073gmail.com

thank you

It is a 10 year old truck, it could have been anything from a leaking fuel line to an electrical fire, anything that old is beyond blaming the Manufacturer, it has probably been worked on by on or more non Ford shops so you can blame them also.

I am 99.9999999999999999% sure there are no magnesium parts on a Ford F150 engine. Or any automobile engine. Probably not even on any engines at all. There is no information about them catching on fire due to magnesium, let alone exploding.

A fuel leak is a different story though.

Yep and the thread title is so misleading. An explosion and a fire are not the same thing.

There is magnesium in automotive manufacturing, VW engines were magnesium for years.

Transfer cases were magnesium on chevy silverado and HD trucks for many years until pump rub forced them to change materials.
