Default 2007 f150 battery problems

Been having some trouble. Battery light came on and I check the post and they were corroded. Cleaned them up with coke, bush and water but still got the machine gun fire clicking. Bought a new battery. Same thing with the rapid fire clicking. When I have the battery hooked up to another vehicle via jumper cables, I get a noise like its going to turn over, but then more clicking. Have full lights, radio, ac etc when hooked up to cables, but nothing when unhooked. Any ideas?

Might be a dumb question but did you clean the actual terminals that are attached to your wiring harnesses? Other than that maybe check that you're getting adequate power to your starter.

I figured. Just wanted to make sure. Just the clicking makes me wonder about the power to the starter. Sounds like the starter isn't engaging

New development now that I can see it in daylight. The neg terminal has a greenish tinge to it. When I have it connected via jumpers, I still get full light, dash, radio and it still cranks for about half a second then clicks. The new thing is after I try turning it over twice, it goes completely dead. No click no nothing

Replace your Negitive cable and clean the connection area on the frame...you have a short to ground that is draining your battery...

Green tinge bad. Lead oxide will not conduit electricity. Always clean post and inside cable terminal to a bright lead color. Bicarbonate of soda works to neut. acid and clean posts (mix with alittle water).

Cleaned it with bicarbonate soda. It'll now turnover with a jump, but shuts off about two minutes after I remove jumper cables. Gonna replace the neg cable as suggested. See what happens. Thanks for all the suggestions,
