Hi all, I am new here, good looking forum. I am looking at purchasing an 03 F150 XL/STX Flareside with a 4.6, 2WD. Good Truck? Anything I should look out for? My other option is a 99 F150 XLT Flareside. Ideas? Opinions? Jagz.

 

Welcome to the board. How many miles are on each truck? What are they asking? Look for obvious excessive wear and leaks. Try to get the maintenance records. Do a Carfax.

 

The STX is a 2003 13500 cdn. 110,000kms original owner. Leer Lid, new tires, everthing else is stock, Silver. The XLT is a 99, 89,000kms, full load, 11900 cdn. ARE Lid, Dual Exhaust, Buckets. Red. Both are clean well cared for trucks. Leaning towards the 03. Jagz.

110,000 km is like what 85,000 miles. For 13k Canadian. Thats not bad. 13k Cdn is what 11,500 USD. Not a super deal but not too bad.

 

welcome. I'd say get the '03. It's newer and not that much more expensive (sp?) than the older truck.

Hello!! I just joined this morning! I have a 2003 F150, STX, 4x4 Flair side, 5speed manual and I love it!! This is my 3rd 5speed manual truck and I would not change a thing. I have over 113000 miles on the old gal and she runs great. I have a few questions about installing a power driver seat. Have the frame but it appears that the frame does not match the holes of the old driver seat. Any one out there did the same thing to their truck?
