My 2003 F150 Super Crew with 196,000 miles idles very rough for about 1 min at start up. I have a OBDII wireless device and I can see the P0031 (Cylinder 1 misfires) happening. Once it runs smooth, no more codes show up. I've changed both the coil pack and the spark plug. I've read many forums on the issue but nothing steers me to a simple solution. I'm hesitant to take it to a dealer because they just seem to guess and charge until they find a solution.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated..

Wow! Could that be a PCM going bad? Also,check the compression on #1 cyl. when you can.don-ohio
