2001 CD Changer Mount
First off, don’t give me any grief about the crap equipment; it served me well for over twelve years and will likely serve many more years in one of my 928’s.
This post is about the mounting method which also worked quite well over the years. I was clamped to the bottom of the seat and moved with the seat. The only concern was to be mindful of what was on the hump before moving the seat forward. That normally wasn’t a problem because all I ever put there is gloves and hat.
The only tool required was a 5/16 nut driver to fit the hose clamps. The rest was hidden behind clipped on panels.
I did use IDC’s but they were put on well. I left them there. I wonder if they’ll ever be used again.
The control head was held on by 3M adhesive back Dual Lock which is kind of like Velcro on steroids.
I was reminded of how well these trucks are built as I popped everything apart and put it back together without any indication that I had done so.
Just thought I’d share this simple installation.
Enjoy.
