Default 2000 F150 ABS pump

I have a 2000 model F150 that I've had for over 8 years, and is has always done right by me. Today I was playing around with my code scanner and realized it will also check ABS codes, as well as DTC codes. Since It's had the ABS light on since I bought it (from a state hiway patrol auction), I decided to look it up. The readout was code C1096, which tells me that likely the ABS pump has issues. When I checked it out, I notice that it looked like a cable (2-wire, not the main wiring harness connector) was disconnected. Plugging it in started up a growling noise--even with the key out of the vehicle. I'm sure that means the pump motor is bad, but could it be anything else? I'd greatly appreciate any positive comments.

Thanx

Dave

Post a picture of the "cable".
