2.7 oil pressure loss and new engine.

Buying a new or used vehicle for that matter does not require the owner to know how to do anything other than put gas in and drive it.
To insinuate more is absurd. Some people don't know how to water plants, is it their fault for it dying or their fault for not hiring a horticulturist to keep it alive?

Not when its covered under warranty. I would have drove it there as well. Not sure if a warranty pays for cost of towing a defective engine to the dealership.

Considering the 2.7L has to sit for at least 15 minutes to get an accurate oil level reading, it was probably low but not out.

The good news is that you are getting a new engine. Here is to hoping the dealer does an accurate swap out and in!

It's amazing how many people don't read their manuals. There's this thing called roadside assistance. It's part of the new vehicle warranty. Ford handles it...you shouldn't.
You should NEVER drive a truck that has oil pressure warnings and nothing showing on the dipstick. That's a fundamental rule that kids are taught at 16. C'mon guys....
