I was cleaning some slop off my truck yesterday after a recent snowfall and found this darned paint chip right in the middle of the drivers door. I'm almost fanatical about keeping my truck clean and am really pi$$ed about this and have no idea how it happened. I never park near any other vehicle so I'm guessing a flying rock hit me from a passing car. It's a 1/2" long and right through the paint so hopefully a good body shop can fix it.
Obviously not as big a deal as many go through but just an early morning rant.
First thing I learned about owning a truck is they get dinged up. I'm like you and that stuff bothers the hell out of me, I try to park out the way and somebody will always park next to me. With kids I might add swinging doors.
The first thing to get hammered was my windshield though. Got about 3 cracks in that thing the first year of ownership.
Yeah..I hear ya! But you simply cannot keep them looking 'perfect', unless they are garage queens. A body shop can fix you right up...wait for warmer weather though.
Dropped the truck off at the local FORD dealer and they did an excellent job repairing the door and no indication it was ever scratched before and am 100% happy with the outcome.

would be great to hear/see more: spray whole door? Spot touch up? Pics? Cost?
