The 4x4 switch for my f150 has stopped working. It does not make the 4x4 icon light up nor does it make the "click click" sound when engaged. I checked both fuses that are in the book and both look good. I checked underneath and the wires are hooked up. Any help would be appreciated as it is expected to snow here for the next few days. Thanks!

For the switch, take it out and check resistance. If none it's a bad switch. unfortunately they cost an arm and a leg.

It could be many things though. The 4 x 4 selinoid, the vacuum hoses or the 4wd actuator.

Best best, the vacuum hoses are broken and need replaced. I know because I've replaced all those parts on my 2001.
