My 1997 flareside 4x4 shows the elect shift to be engaging, in 4H and 4L when shifted to either positon, but 4x4 won't engage. Can the elect motor not be working but still showing engagement on the dash lights. And is there something in the front diff that might not be engaging. Thanks

 

it may be the vacuum lines that engage the front hubs

 

I'm getting ready to test and check the vaccume servo in the front diff to see if it is not engaging, does anyone have a drawing of the engagement stuff in that front pot. Thanks..
