Default 1985 2wd to 4wd????

Hey, I have a 1985 f 150, 302, 5.0 EFI, 2wd twin I beam! And I was wondering how hard would it be to go buy a truck the same year and motor, but with 4wd, and take those components off that truck and convert mine to 4wd?? And if anybody knows maybe they could share some tips to! And I don't mind working on truck, I enjoy it! Thank you

Trust me .. If you are asking the question more than likely you are not up to the challenger.. but it would be easier to buy a 4wd truck and swap your good parts to it

This question has been given the once-over, many times now. It would be much easier to move the good parts off your truck to the new truck than it would be to remove the entire drivetrain/suspension and swap to your truck.

Thanks for all your help! But here's another question, so if I get the front axle twin i beam that's four wheel drive and the transfer case, and all that junk, will I need to replace my transmition?

Yes.. You will have to change your transmission.. Or use an divorce transfer... Which that gives you drive line problems unless you have an extended cab truck
