So I have a 14' F150 tailgate with the integrated step but the handle is a lift up type on the flat tailgate surface, not internal like the new ones. I would like to throw away that plastic bed liner type cover however, I am trying to find a replacement option like an aftermarket or something I can Raptor Line with the rest of the bed that would incorporate the step handle. Are there any suggestions out there? Thank you.

P.S. Also if there is a compatible tailgate with the handle internal for the 2014 FX4 please let me know.

I'm not as familiar with that gen F150 and somewhat confused about internal/not internal handle, can you post a pic for us?

I’m not sure how it’s mounted, but I would imagine you could remove the mounting bracket and raptor/rhino line the tailgate and then reinstall. Obviously make sure to cover the mounting holes to use after.

Ok, that clarifies the problem for me. I found a video where a dude removed it, maybe that will help you out to remove it while you line the tailgate surface. I am not sure if a mod is out there to move the handle internal or use the guts from a newer tailgate with the internal handle. I'll keep looking.

Thanks, I saw that one but was hoping to maybe keep it but replace the plastic bed liner with something different that would also accommodate the handle. I still may have to remove it though.
