First time poster


I have been researching F150's for quite awhile now...


Always been a ford truck guy, and finally ready to buy one in the next month or two...


Long story short, I am debating between the 11th and 12th gen trucks.


Truck will be 4x4 and 8 cylinder (preferably the larger v8)


I know a bunch of guys with 150s from all generations, years, and config's... and of course, mixed reviews.


2 guys I know have had/are having transmission problems in their 12 gen trucks.


1 guy I know has timing belt issues on this 11 gen.


What are the big reliability issues between the 2 generations?
What should I be looking for if I buy a 11th gen? or 12th gen?


I have read about the "spark plug" issues... are these cover under warranty from Ford or will I have to pay out of pocket if/when the plugs seize within the motor?


What else should I be looking for or concerned about?


I am pretty set on a F150 and know these trucks, for the most part, are damn reliable and dependable.
