Default 100 series remote start price???

I stopped by the Stealership to see what it cost me for the 100 series remote start installed on my 2012 xlt, I believe there extremely overpriced but I was told it would be $299 for the remote start and $150 for the install, a total of $449 thats like $200 too much correct!!!

That doesn't seem high to me. The remote start kit comes with two new keys. You can install it yourself then pay the dealer to turn it on and program keys. It's pretty simple.

Fairway Ford sells the 100 on e-bay for 209.95 with free shipping.

Tasca sells the same one for 194.28 plus 21.37 for shipping

I wanted a remote start also and ended up going to the local Radio shop. Had one installed for $299. I thought that was high, but soon found out that's average for a remote start only (no car alarm). I couldn't be happier. I was told it has a life time warranty on everything except batteries in the remote. I love it!!

If your truck key has a chip in it you will need to buy a coffin box which holds the key and sends a signal to the ignition switch. Remote starters are not that difficult to install. On a scale from 1 to 10 there about a 4. If you can get ahold of someone who has an account with direct techs it will tell you exactly what wire colors and where there located at. I install these all the time at work and the biggest thing is having confidence to do the job. (No point intended)
I will say 300 just for the remote start does seem kind of high seeing that pythons are around the same price and has ever feature available. I would do some more research before investing that kind of money...

These ford remote starts only come with two keys a wire and antenna. You remove the glove box plug the antenna into the TPMS module. Then take it to dealer to turn it on and program keys your done. There is no coffin box. Ford never used the boxes where you needed a programmed key to work.

I bought my 2012 F-150 new from the dealer in August and wanted a remote starter put on it. They told me it would cost $1200 with 2 keys with the starter on the keys. But they told me since I bought the truck from them for a second time they would let me have it for $600. I know they hosed me but they said if I had it installed else where other than a ford dealership it could void the warranty. So I paid up.

I know, but I wanted one and I did not want to screw up my warranty. So what are you going to do. I guess I had sucker written on my forehead.
