06 cherrybomb or flowmaster
Hello I have a 2006 FX4 with the 5.4. I am trying to decide between a cherrybomb glass pack or a super 10 muffler. Which one does everyone reccomend? I know the cherrybombs are quite cheaper but Im worried that it wont sound as good and isnt the quality flowmaster is.
From personal experience, I would keep looking. Glasspacks have that same raspy, popping and cheap sound. Flowmasters have really never done anything for me neither. I ran flowmasters on my 93 with the 5.8l, and it just didn't give me any sound when you really got on the throttle.
You should go to youtube, and search for exhaust clips for your truck/engine. Some stuff can get a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

I owned a '94 T'bird LX with the 4.6. I bought her in Oct. of '02. That following Jan. of '03. I had a custom catback dual exhaust system built for her with Dynomax Bullet glass pack mufflers. It sounded really nice and no popping. I'm not a big fan of Flowmaster either. Sounds generic to me, but that's just me? The T'bird had the stock exhaust manifolds and Y-pipe that went into a stock resonator. From there I had it split off into two pipes that ran back to the Dynomax mufflers. It had a nice rumble at idle and a nice growl when I got on her. I replaced the entire system in the summer '14 because it rusted out. Had to sell her last year. I loved that car.....
I went with Flowmaster Original 40, single in/dual out. I'm not sure how concerned you are with drone and the loudness in the cab, but I initially had my pipes dumped in front of the rear axle. It was SOOO loud that I couldn't hear the radio or carry on a conversation without hollering. After about a week of that I went back and had them run the pipes straight out the back. That helped a great deal. Still sounds loud and aggressive without giving me a headache.
FWIW, I tried watching YouTube videos to help make my decision, but honestly the sound is night and day from videos to in person. So, I wouldn't put too much stock into what you see/hear in online videos.
