The chrome bumpers and grilles on these trucks are huge. To people that aren't into chrome, its a huge turn off.. myself included. If Ford offered a 'sport' package (similar to the F150) where they had color matched bumpers, mirror caps and door handles, and a 'blacked out' magnetic colored grille and blacked out headlights...I would trade my 150 in tomorrow... #noteveryoneloveschrome!

Ford..I hope you're listening..even though I know nothing will ever come from this, this would be a nice 2019 model year 'face lift' or added package. Working in the Auto industry, I know it wouldn't increase manufacturing costs all that much. Even if it did, these trucks are already over $65K if you get a Lariat, you'd pass any added cost
along to us poor consumers anyway...
I agree, just bought extra $400 worth of vinyl wrap to cover front and rear bumpers plus the grill. Replacing grill down the road to a black aftermarket. But I would have paid extra to have had a sport blacked out version.

My dealer had one on the lot that was all PTM front to back plus some other mods. Looked great.

You're on meth if you think the Platinum has an "ungodly" amount of chrome. Door handles, a small sliver of window trim, mirror caps and a front grill. That's the only chrome I see on my truck. Oh, the F350 logo on each side is about 50/50 black and chrome.

I was dreaming about Ford Super Duty for a couple of years and now I am waiting for mit from ny delaership.
I do not understand why you are so angry about chrome, if don't like it you may change another model,
When I was at dealership to choose Ford for me I saw many other color variants, for example F550 in white, F450 blue, grey, white.

I really wish Ford would do the same for the super dutys as the F150 with the sport packages. The paint matched bumpers/trim really sets the truck apart.

What package does GM do the paint match aside from the midnight edition on the HD trucks? I've seen the Dodge HDs with the paint matched trim but what haven't seen the general motors twins.

The aftermarket has you covered.
Tough steel black bumpers to replace the flimsy tinfoil stock ones.
Black grills.
Strip the badges and decals yourself.
Throw on a set of black rims.
Super easy to do also.

Mine is kind of a combo, black grill, chrome surround, black mirrors and door handles. It works for me, and the chrome fits well with all the polished aluminum and stainless on my horse trailer. The forged polished wheels look good too.

Truck looking good 5.0...looks like some new tires on it. My factory Michelin's only have 16K miles but I'm really liking them so far. Had mine detailed a month ago and looks like the day I bought it...well satisfied with it so far even with the chrome package!!!

Thanks PawPaw, they have about 35k on them. They are BF Goodrich All Terrain TAs. I do rotate them about every 10K, the fronts tend to wear on the sides, so moving them back flattens them back out again. Kind of a pain since they have to break them down to do it, but it's cheaper than new steering tires every 35k like most duallys get. Should get 60k from them this way I think.
