You need to look up H&S Tuning's Breaking Point 2 segment. The Ford made 884 hp and 1600 lb/ft before the stock tranny started to slip. The duramax started to slip at like 575 hp and 800 lb/ft. They had to put an ats transmission in the duramax to get it to compete.

The tc was just hot on the Ford and starting to slip in the big nitrous pulls. They never ended up replacing it and it's fine to this day.

Mom's boss's new truck! ( the reason why I made this thread ) it's a loaded 2015 F-350 Lariat

Nice truck and the right choice. Just look at the duramax urea tank location, hanging down under the passenger door. I first thought that it was some type of infloor storage box. I can just see kicking something up off the road and breaking it open, causing limp mode and stranding the chevy.

Ford body, Cummins I6, Allison = Best HD truck ever. /dream

Man, you nailed it right there. Don't know anyone personally that had major problems with the Allison, but then again, they were stock, and not worked very hard. The Ford torqshift is a pretty stout unit though.

I laughed when I saw that. talk about an afterthought. Not only is it in a very vulnerable, and ugly location, but it's lower than the frame rail. Not sure I get the logic.

I've only seen one diesel come around a corner with what looked like its wheels tilted at a 45 degree angle ..... IFS

I've actually noticed the opposite. The 3 Allisons backing Dmax's I know, have failed
