The new SD will come out in 2017, not 2016.

Not sure why some think you MUST have a diesel with the super duty. There are a lot that would rather have a gas for ease of maintenance and cheaper up front cost.

The 2016 F-650/750 are getting the 6.8 V-10 option. Despite being long in the tooth, an updated version of that engine would be attractive to a lot of future SD buyers. It has similiar power levels as the 3.5 EB but tough enough for the medium duty trucks.

I would love to see a superduty with a usable super cab. The F-150 had a much bigger supercab than the F-250. I would prefer it to a 156" crew.

Oh, and +1 on the bigger gas tank.

The F650 has already had the V10 for several years. My 13 f650 was a V10.

I know, I just thought they were too quick to drop it from the light duty trucks when they replaced the 5.4L with the 6.2L V-8. There was still room there for the V-10.

Motor Trend had an article on the F-650 with the V-10. Looks like you had a beast of a truck!

My work truck is a f450 with the v10 and it gets 6mpg. Having to fill up not even every 200 miles gets old very fast. It's an 07 so it would have had the 6.0 if my boss had went with the diesel option. I will probably get a new truck in the next few years so I'm curious as to what will the new engine choices will be.

If they are using Aluminium, the 5.0 with short gears would be great for a base engine. I would love to see a Coyote with 2 more cylinders as well - a new 6.3L V-10 would be cool.

Some really want a 5.0 EB, but that would be too close in capability to the 6.7L Diesel.

The F650 V10 was nice with the 6 speed auto. Pulled really well. Best MPG I got with it was 11.6 on a round trip with a 68 Charger R/T on the bed, worst was 5 MPG Typical stop & go Chicago driving. I agree, a new V10 based on the 5.0 would be awesome! I have a 13 F150 RCSB with a 5.0 & 3.55LS and it is one quick truck. Within a few tenths of what my 2000 Lightning used to run when bone stock.

"Caught out testing months ahead of a public debut, this is the 2017 Ford F-250 pickup — the Super Duty version of the aluminum-bodied F-150. As with the new light-duty trucks, the Super Duty revamp is expected to include aluminum bodywork, along with the revised 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel, or either an upgraded 3.5-liter Ecoboost V-6 or a new 5-liter twin-turbo V-8, all routed through a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Much like previous generations, the Super Duty line will mimic the F-150s styling, and its bevy of new safety technology."

I have been debating on what to get as my next new truck to replace my HD Ram. I have been looking at the F150 Eco with the heavy duty payload pkg. Nice pkg, it includes a heavier frame. With a regular cab and long bed it has a payload of 3030lbs! Not bad for a 150. Not to mention it would ride a lot better. I started to look at the F150 over my concerns regarding the emissions stuff the new diesels are saddled with. Too many complaints about problems with the systems and DPF fluid and all. And it is a common complaint for all three (Ram; Gm; Ford). My current truck does not have any of that. The emissions stuff makes you to NOT want a new truck and keep with the old. I really think if someone can come up with a viable gas engine alternative ( V-10; an HD Eco; or that twin turbo V8) you will see a good number of sales to people like me who just not so thrilled with the emissions on the new diesels but want an HD.

Saw this posted somewhere a while back. Supposedly the new SuperDuty tailgate.
