Hey everyone, Ive been in the market of trading my truck in for a bigger one for a few months now. Ive had some good offers from people on CL with diesels and some chevy/dodges, but I'll be with ford until I die. I found this truck about 3 hours away from my house and fell in love with it. Ive never seen a f250 with just the 5.4 in it. If anybody has one or has had experience with one and can offer some tips/advice before I go ahead and purchase it, that would be great

My current truck is an '08 2wd extended cab with the 4.6. I have only put a leveling kit on it so far. Here is the link to the new truck

Its not a popular option with the majority of the super duty guys online. Its a dog compared to the other options, and the fuel mileage is horrible. It doesnt tow like it should.

Its nothing against the 5.4, however the superduty is a heavy truck. You can find the triton V-10's around the same price as the 5.4's. If love the truck, and the way it drives, buy the truck. There is nothing wrong with that. People have told me time and time again not to buy a 6.0, but I did.

Good luck with the buy, and let us know what you end up with.

I had the 5.4 in my old f150 and it was great, but I know the 250s are much heavier. However, this truck I'm looking at is amazing and the EXACT set up I was going to do anyways. I'll look into it and post pics if I end up getting it

2004 F250 5.4. Reg Cab, long bed. FX4 Off Road. Pretty good truck, it doesn't weight as much as an extended cab or super crew, so IMO, it has more power than my friends 06 5.4 super cab, lb.

It does pretty good towing 6000lbs.
Can't get accurate mileage, because most of the time, it's just around the farm, short trips and stuff. I can get anywhere I need to go on the 4wheeler.
