Default Lightning wheel upgrade

Now that I have placed my lightning order. It’s time to start looking at wheels to replace these hideous stock ones. What size wheel can be run? Can I replace with tremor wheels?

So doing a little google search yields me that we cannot use Raptor wheels and tires due to the weight rating, lightning wheels are rated for much greater weights. I guess we’ll have to wait a bit for additional info. Leveling/ lift kits are also out for now.

I totally agree. Pretty much all car maker's EV wheels are hideous. I'm waiting to be called in to convert my Lighting Reservation into an Order. But, I'm already looking for different wheels.
I didn't even think about the weight limitations for my choices. Thanks for the heads-up. Please post pics of your wheels choice, when you get it.

i would think any 1pc forged wheel would be sufficient. If you're looking for budget cast wheels, reaching out to the manufacturer would be my 1st step. Certainly they'll be up to task if they offer 3/4-ton and 1-ton wheel options as the manufacturing process is likely the same.

the wheel designs are for lower wind resistance, seems difficult to make a good looking and aero friendly design. My friend has Tesla and it has decent looking Tesla brand wheels on it so I asked him why he still had the hubcab looking things hanging in the garage and apparently it's been confirmed that the more aerodynamic covers add a few % to the milage which adds up over the course of a road trip.

The axles on the Hummer H2 are 4400lb front, 6000lb rear, and the wheels are rated 2750lb (Almost exact same GVWR as the extended range lightning), and that thing was designed with significant off-road use in mind. I think the typical 2500lb rated wheels for F150's will be fine as long as you're not going rock crawling with low profile tires. The more sidewall you've got, the less strain impacts put on the wheels.
