Default 7700's, ...an F150 or 250???

I'm just learning of these. I was about to get a 2007 F250 for 2000 and w 4000 more, make it sound. But to carry 2500 versus my 2001 F150's 1000+, I'd pay a 2000 lb wt penalty. The 5th gear over my present 4, won't make up for the economy loss despite by going to 285's I can get its 3.73 within 1.6% of my present 3.55 rear. I may want a camper and not many are light enough for a 150.

Somehow I stumbled upon 7700s.
these were called F250Light Duty around (check me) 1997-9... and rebranded F150 Heavy Duty around 2000-04. Springs are different. The frame is similar but of thicker material. These seem not well known. 7 lug wheels give them away. I think they come 3.73 or 4.10... 2WD or 4x4. Owners hang onto them. Nice in-between. Think I'd like one.

I believe this is the wrong area for your thread.
