Default what are these?

Ive owned a few 1978/1979 F150s but never as original or as complete as my current one, 1979 F150 E


xplorer. my question is what are these and what do they do?

That first pic is the vacuum canister that holds vacuum for a few seconds while you floor it
That keeps the AC vents working and it will not default to defrost with a working canister (holds vacuum)
The 2nd pic is the carbon canister, designed to hold fuel vapor from the air section of the fuel tank
The purge solenoid opens and burns the vapor when commanded
Some of the real early ones had no canister purge solenoid and it was vacuum controlled IIRR

Also, in the 1st pic
That silver box on the inner fender apron is the ignition module for the Duraspark
