Default What is this container/tank in the engine bay?

my truck (1972 F250, but I suppose the machinery is similar to F100) has been parked for 5 years without being run, now I'm trying to drive it, but noticed this this white plastic container on the left side of the bay, it has a electric wire connected to the bottom, which seems to be some sort of sensor.
the liquid inside is all to the bottom now, which worries me.

I don't have a pic of my truck but found a pic online (pic1)
