Default Transmission tag decode

Pulling my hair out here.
1985 F 150 XLT 302/5.0 EFI (gag)
I've hunted the web like a mad man to try to find out what trans I have and how to decode the tag.
14 bolt pan 3 speed, according Crankshaftcoalition that gives me a FX Cruis-O, MX Cruis-O, FMX or CW as my trans. Yet, the year says that I should have a C3, C5 or an A4LD.
The trans tag reads
PKB J
030227 B21
E5TP GA

On the data plate on the door jam what is your transmission code? Mine is a K code which is a C6 3 speed auto. A code W would be a C5, G code would also be a C6.

Hope this helps

I kid you not, it looks like an upside down L.

That would make it a 7 which in '85 was a 4 speed (Auto O/D). As for the tag it does not work in my books.

I have 1, D, and circle D on the dash. And that L/7 is really an L turned upside down. Or a backwards 7, if the printer was drunk on that day.

As soon as I can upload the photos, of it and the door tag (my computer is being a pain) I will.

Best way at this point is to crawl under and draw a detailed picture of the outline of your pan with all the bolts drawn in. Then hit google images for 1985 f150 transmission pan.

The 1 is low, D is auto between 1st, 2nd and drive and circled D should be auto as before including overdrive and if the shift is smooth enough you may never feel the shift into O/D.
