Default transmission help!

I converted my 1986 f-150 from EFI to a Carb
I recently learned the my transmission (E4OD) isn't goin to work because it requires a computer to to tell it when to shift.
So i went and saw one of my buddy's who
owns a transmission shop and he said a C6 will go right into its place
I want a couple other peoples opinions before I go buy a transmission

E4OD is a C6 with an extra gear, basically. But the extra gear makes it longer. So the transmission mount will have to move. And the driveshaft will have to be shortened. And you have 4WD, so the other shaft will have to be lengthened. Then you will need different shift linkage, and the kick down linkage. I think that's everything, but I might have missed something important.
Time you're done with all that, You'd probably be further ahead to spend 600 or so and get a stand alone computer and harness for the E4OD (Baumann Engineering).
