Default Timing

I've been tryin to get my timing right on my 85 150 with the i6. It's real close but the problem is, the truck doesn't have the stuff to get it there. Like the arrow that points to the timing cover and pulley. Or whatever it has I don't have it. Does anybody know what it has or what it looks like. So I can get one or get one ordered. I'd appreciate the help folks.

From my shop manual ('86) it appears that the timing indicator for the 4.9 is just a notch in the pulley. The timing marks are etched into the engine front cover. There is no pointer like on the 5.0.
You may have to clean things up and apply some chalk or reflective paint to the marks and notch.

Ok. I've got it all then. It's a new pulley and I seen the mark and my cover I cleaned up when I rebuilt the motor. I just didn't know if it had the pointer or not. Thanks.
