Tailgate Replacement
I am now the proud owner/driver of a 1984 F250 2WD with a honkin' big 460 ! Only 125,000 miles BUT has tailgate issues. What range of years can I swap tailgates with and have latches line up correctly?
Seams like this was already answered in your similar post a few days ago.....
Here it is again:
Whenever I want to find out what fits what year, I do a search at autoparts web sites Autozone, LMC etc:
LMC shows the same part for 80-86:

Check out www.certifit.com
Very reasonable prices and decent quality. Not made in USA, but new and very affordable.

You can use any 150/250/350 gate from 80-86 the way it is. 87-96 gates also fit but you need to take all of the accessories. Hinges, strikers, along with a handfull of washers for spacers. I used a 96 gate on my 86.

If you search older than '87 Ford is not listed in the Make menu.
