i tackled the t18 swap today. i have an 86 f150 300 4x4 i took out the junk t170 that was missin 3 and 4 . and replaced it with a t18 out of a 78 f150. i got a used t18 that was bolted to np208 when i removed my t case found out that the 208 used smaller u joints then my 1345. so used the 208 extension housing and bolted it to my 1345 every thing went smoth and bolted together the way it shoult my bell housing bolted rate up and i was able to reuse my hydrolic clutch man i was not use to such a low 1st gear

 

If you have the T18 with the 'granny' 1st then you can skip 1st in normal street driving. Also you have to be totally stopped to shift into 1st.
