The bolt is a 3/8-18 bolt, not sure of length. Possible 2 inches. Problem is the head is reduced for a 1/2 socket instead of the normal 9/16. Ford item only.

Thank you! Any idea if one off a 90s truck will fit an 86?

Most of the stuff from 1980 thru 1986 are compatable. If one bolt is still there take it out and go to ace hardware or your local auto parts store should be able to match it up nicely.

Id keep that bolt slas short as possible. Too long and you have the starter **** eyed. I accidentally did this once and it cost me a start and a flywheel. I cant remember exactly but I think its 1 1/2" in length. And be sure to use a lock washer

I had the same thing happen. I used the original in the top. And found one too long for the bottom, so the threads come out the other side. My was drilled and tapped all the way through. I then put a nut on the back side with a little locktite.
