so i was workin on the ford today a 86 f150 with the 300 because it had a rough idle and i adjusted the timing and the carb. i noticed the alt. belt was wearing so i replaced it. but now when the truck is idleing all my lights and radio shutter like the juice is cutting out and i noticed an electrical arking between the shifter and the floor pan when i rev it up please help

 

If possible move the wires either forward or aft and if not to severely damaged, tape them up. Sparking is not good, whether its your actual power surge or not.

 

i found out it was the ground wire connecting the fire wall to the motor came off when i was 4 wheling yesterday
