Does that year of ford still have the separate voltage regular on the fender under the hood? May check it if it has one.

Yep...one of the first things I did (see my first post). Today, I installed a switch (inside the cab of the truck) in the battery cable so while I still haven't solved the drain problem, at least I don't have to get out (in the rain etc.) and disconnect the the battery connection each night.

Guess I'm not understanding the reasoning. To me, spending money and not fixing the problem leads to no bank accounts and recessions. Sorry, its just stupid. Good luck.

I never thought I would be accused of being "stupid" on this forum but I guess that's what I get for thinking. I appreciate all of the suggestions from others here but you have not been helpful at all..."have you tried closing the battery drain valve?"

I have offended you two times, sorry for that. Neither time was a slam at you. My sence of humor (battery drain valve) has gotten me into trouble before, am used to it. Perhaps it will become evident. As far as spending money trying to get around fixing the problem, this is stupid. I never said that you were. The temporary repair was. People do this all the time, my father had a saying, "to quick old, too late smart". I find myself victom of this all to often, and I hate it. But life goes on. Again, sorry for the comments that upset you, enough said. Maybe next time you will think different of me.
