hello. I have a question that I hope someone can help me with,
I have a 1978 ford f150 460 bb automatic trans, problem im having is truck shifts well then when going into drive you have to find a sweet spot to get it there, sometimes can be tricky, anyone know what this could be??

hows the fluid look feel and smell?

 

fluid level is right, looks and smells clean, it will go into drive just have to find a certain spot. almost like its in between 2nd and drive

 

Not real sure about that year. But my 82 had the same problem and i had to adust the linkage. On the side of the tranny. Pretty much just took slop out of it. Then it would go in drive. Almost like normal.
