Rear Roll Pans
A few questions...
1 - Are roll pans legal? I live in Massachusetts. I've tried Googling this.. no luck. They're so damn vague with all the vehicle modding laws. It'd just be too easy for them to give a straight up answer, right?
2 - Does any body have a roll pan on their truck? Pics?
3 - Do they require further customization or are can you just bolt it on and go? I've heard of "molding" them to fit it the way you want and stuff.
I'm a college student and don't want to be spending a whole lot more than I need to. I don't want to spend a few hundred on a roll pan and then find out that I need to spend even more having someone work on it in a shop to make it look like part of the truck. I'm kind of on the fence about getting one, the answers to these questions will probably help me decide. Not a huge fan of the bumper on the truck right now, so I figured I'd look at all possible options... and the roll pans do kind of look cool sometimes on these trucks. I really just like the clean uniform look.
Thanks!
Oh, the truck is a 1970 F100 if that makes any difference.

I have a roll-pan on my truck, not sure about the laws in your state, But you can probably go up to the sheriff office and ask.
I have roll pan on my truck 78 F-150
Here it is without being welded. Just had it bolted in at the time.

And here it is welded in. and muded in.

As you can see it is easy to bolt one on. You just have to get it colored match and thats it. If your going the route of welding you would have to sand weld prime and re-paint the area. Which could get costly. Luckily my dad taught and helped me weld it on. But the paint is up to me, Which is not all that difficult. (By the way my truck is in the middle of being repainted so I went ahead and welded it in.)

Thanks for the response bro, paint is no problem as the truck doesn't have any paint on it. It has primer on it so that works out well. Not sure what color I want or when I'll do it. Probably not any time soon because I'm swamped with school stuff.
