rear lowering kit

Default rear lowering kit

can someone help me find a rear lowering kit for my 78 ranger.. i looked all over the web and they only make stuff for the newer trucks. or they make lift kits for mine, but havent seen anyone make a rear lowering kit for my truck. any help my way will be well appreciated. thank you for helping me out

If I remember corectly you have to take the springs loose from rear. Remove axle from bottom of spring, install on top of spring. In the process you have to remove spring perch from top of axle and put on the bottom of the axle with new ubolts.

ok man thanks alot. i will have to crawl back up underneath it, and take another good look at it. i was just kinda hoping it make it easier for me if they make shorter leaf springs

if i do it the way you said, do you think i will have any exhuast clearance issue's? cause i am highly leaning your way of lowering the back down, thanks for helpin me out man.

You shouldn't have issues if the bend over the axle is deep enough. BUT wouldn't it be cool to come out the side in front of the rear axle.
